Code Compliance in Bali
Choosing a hotel or tourist service that has signed “The Code” is one of the most powerful ways a tourist can create positive change.
The Code, short for The Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children from Sexual Exploitation in Travel and Tourism, is an industry-driven, multi-stakeholder initiative with the mission to provide awareness, tools and support to the tourism industry in order to combat the sexual exploitation of children in travel and tourism. Tour operators and tourism organisations that adopt and sign The Code commit to inform customers and staff on their child protection policies, report potential cases and apply other measures to protect children.

If you have decided to stay at a Code-compliant hotel rather than a non-compliant hotel, we encourage you to send this form letter to the non-compliant hotel informing them of their lost business and urging them to consider signing the Code as well.
The simple act of choosing a Code-compliant hotel is another step toward eradicating child trafficking – one reservation at a time.
